ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENTS: Every Custom Detail Matters…No Matter How Messy!
Mud season translates into tub season—the time of year when we find ourselves soaking our soiled selves. Sleeker than the buckets of yore, contemporary bathtubs make the act of cleaning up our acts feel more glamorous than grimy. Always attuned to context, we maximize the moment of relaxation by placing tubs in prime spots within master suites. Soak up the inspiration:
Montana Modern
The clean geometry of the bathroom (above)—a simple rectangle—is echoed in the modern silhouette of the Gobi tub with Dornbracht Super Nova fittings. The white walls and white tub contrast elegantly with the reclaimed wood floors and Montana moss rock wall.
Bathing in leaf-dappled light.
Lucky L Ranch
Picture bathing in the dappled shade of aspens. A pair of panoramic windows, perpendicular to each other, pull the slender trees indoors, immersing the master tub—Kohler’s Vintage freestanding bath—in a grove of privacy.
Soak up the panorama.
Lone Mountain Hideaway
The sweeping vista visible from this bathroom—perched atop the third story of a slopeside retreat—inspired the wall of windows. The cast iron tub by Cheviot with Rohl Georgian Era fittings accentuates the classic schema of this serene ensuite.
Bibliophile bathing.
Casa de los Peregrinos
Books, books and more books: Our client’s copious collection demanded bookshelves in every room, including the master bath. We nestled the Waterworks Savoy tub with Etoille fittings among reclaimed timbers and Yorkshire stone pavers—a warm nook crisply contrasted by the concrete stairs, stainless steel railing and custom light fixtures.
