A JLF Architects-designed house is the cover story of the 2023 edition of Big Sky Journal HOME. Created by JLF Design Build – JLF Architects working in collaboration with Big-D Signature/Dovetail Construction – the home outside Bozeman, Montana, “is all about the views and sitting lightly on the land,” the magazine writes. “Reclaimed wood, local stone, a lot of glazing, and a design that stretches out along the hillside in multiple volumes help the structure blend into its surroundings and lend it a built-over-time vibe. In the same 2023 HOME issue, another JLF and Big-D Signature house is featured “In the Shadow of the Tetons,” with JLF’s John Lauman explaining its place-based, regional approach, responding to the topography, culture, climate, and history.
