“Above all else, this home pays homage to its location,” writes Mountain Living of this JLF-designed house on the banks of the Snake River in Jackson Hole. The JLF/Big-D Signature team planned the house around the site’s spectacular views of both the river and the Grand Tetons, project architect John Lauman tells the magazine. “When we’re done, the idea is that the house has always been there,” he says. “It doesn’t make a statement on its own. It needs its surroundings. It’s kind of symbiotic in that the site informs the house.” The quiet rustic stone-and-timber exterior belies an art-filled modern approach to interiors from Kate Binger of Dwelling, with pops of bright color that offer drama against stacked stone walls and reclaimed wood rafters
