The Landing
The bucolic Hudson River Valley neighborhood of Snedens Landing celebrates the eclectic. For the JLF Architects and Big-D Signature design-build team, the paradigm behind this escape from the city was to capture the dramatic river views while retaining the old growth forest. A JLF-designed weathered slatted fence and stone gate entrance to the property heralds the understated country retreat, where the bluff-top site inspired an open-plan linear layout. A shingled-roof central form speaks to the site’s former cottage, and contemporary glass flanks the reclaimed vertical-siding entry, welcoming sunlight and inviting glimpses to the Hudson beyond.
