“A couple felt perfectly fine about buying a home they didn’t like in the least. That’s because they had Jake Scott of JLF Architects to turn the sprawling Park City, Utah, manse into an empty-nester paradise,” writes Mountain Living in its annual top kitchens feature, selecting the JLF Architects/Big-D Signature project as one of only four exhibiting “Refinement on the Range.” “After Scott relocated the kitchen, he outfitted it with an abundance of sleek white-and-steel cabinetry, tons of light and views of the brand-new backyard terrace and pool,” the article continues. With panoramic windows in place of upper cabinets and separate islands for work space and dining, as well as “coffee and toast stations,” the culinary space is a testament to ultimately customizing a kitchen to fit client’s precise needs – including the European-leaning style, reminiscent of the homeowners’ London home, married to regional reclaimed wood on the ceiling and floor.
