“I was searching beyond the noise of trend and visibility for something far more enduring – architects whose work reveals freedom, humanity, nuance, and a profound understanding of how people truly live,” writes Beth Buckley in her introduction to the new Women of Architecture: A Collective of Unique Voices (benton buckley books). Buckley curates the work and voices of 25 “exceptional female architects who are shaping the built environment today,” including JLF Architects co-owner and CEO Ashley Sullivan (pictured in bottom row, fifth from left). “Architecture, Sullivan learned early, is inseparable from respect: for the land, for craft, and for the people who will live within the work long after its initial concept is forgotten,” writes Buckley in the chapter of the book honoring Sullivan’s philosophy, leadership, and work, accompanied by full page color images of JLF projects that she has designed and worked on.
