These homeowners “found themselves drawn to the work of JLF,” envisioning “a contemporary yet rustic style in a relatively modest and livable scale, and they also wanted to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.” The resulting JLF and Big-D design-build collaboration surpassed the basic LEED requirements for sustainability, achieving Silver status – and makes intriguing use of the clients’ home back East as the architects’ launching point for the project’s design.
