A foodie at heart, he enjoys both cooking and sampling gourmet food and wine. One can also see him around Bozeman on the hiking trail with his stepdaughter, Amelie, and wife Jillian.

Logan Leachman

Logan Leachman + JL

Principal

Logan began his career in 1992 under firm leadership of Jonathan L. Foote. In 2000, upon Jonathan’s retirement, Logan joined Paul and Tammy as partners and founding members of what is now referred to as JLF & Associates, Inc. Logan has been a driving force behind many of the firms’ most successful projects. Logan was instrumental in forming many of the methods JLF Design Build practices today, a process he continues to champion and refine. He is responsible for designs, project management, company policy, and corporate analytics.

Logan studied architecture at Western Kentucky University in the mid 1980’s where he met his wife Jamie. They moved west in 1990 and started a family. All three of his children were raised in Montana where they all enjoy an active, outdoor lifestyle. Logan enjoys traveling to new worldly destinations usually with his bike in tow, skiing in the beautiful mountains of Montana, and gardening. He is pleased that his daughter, Morgan, chose to study architecture while interning at the firm and carry on his passion for beautiful, responsible design.

Ashley Sullivan

Ashley Sullivan

Principal

Ashley is a design Principal and registered architect at JLF & Associates. She studied and earned her Bachelor of Architecture at Auburn University. Ashley’s design-build background began on the Hay Bale House during the first year of Rural Studio (1994) under “Sambo” Mockbee. Here she developed her respect for clients’ needs, place-based design, and craft. She continues to expand her knowledge as she collaborates with her design-build partners, craftsmen, and artists. Ashley grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and has merged her Southern lady charm with a relaxed Mountain West lifestyle. Her background, cultural experiences, and desire to learn have given her a unique perspective on life.

Ashley renews her inspiration through her connection with nature and culture. She can often be spotted rafting the Yellowstone River or taking a few turns on the slopes of Bridger Bowl or Big Sky. She also enjoys backpacking and cross country skiing in the silence of the forests trails in the Absaroka-Beartooth Mountain Ranges. She loves to travel and expand her cultural mindset. Her friends and family know her best for enjoying a glass of wine while engaging in wonderful conversation, laughter, and inspirational thoughts.

John M. Lauman

Junior Partner

Like the backstory that plays behind the opening title credits of a typical 80’s movie, John was raised in a small mining/farming community in southeast Idaho, studied architecture at Montana State University, and began his career in Jackson, Wyoming. After two short years and a chance meeting with some JLF employees, he began working for JLF & Associates in July of 1997. Over the years, he has grown from a green intern to Partner, helping expand the company’s resume of diverse projects and satisfied clients. He always endeavors to far surpass the client’s expectations. He is excited to help mold the future of the company and intends to ensure that the legacy of JLF endures. John is a devoted husband, loving father of two daughters, and obsessive fly-fisherman of the incredible waters of Montana and the world.
